Questions to ask
What exactly is Classical Conversations?
Classical Conversations is a nationwide Christian homeschool program built around weekly community days, a classical (grammar, logic, rhetoric) approach to learning, and a shared memory-work curriculum that families reinforce at home the rest of the week.
What are some criticisms of Classical Conversations?
Common criticisms center on the cost of full participation, the heavy emphasis on memorization over independent critical thinking in the younger grades, and the significant weekly time commitment required of parents. Families' experiences vary widely by local community.
Is Classical Conversations a Mormon school?
No. Classical Conversations is a nondenominational Christian program, not affiliated with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or any single denomination; individual communities draw families from a range of Christian traditions.
