Catholic private schools in Houston
Catholic schools are the most established private option in Greater Houston, and this page narrows the full private-school list to the ones that identify as Catholic. They run from small parish elementary schools to larger regional and independent high schools, and they appear across the whole metro, from the Inner Loop and Bellaire to Klein, Sugar Land, Katy, Humble and down the Bay Area coast to Galveston.
Grades run from Pre-K through twelfth across the group, though a single school usually covers only part of that range, so ask early where a child would go after the last grade. Art, music, PE, foreign language, science and Bible are named as regular subjects, and a few schools list a classical or Montessori approach. The schools listed are all described as open to families outside the parish, but ask how each one handles admission and whether tuition differs for parish members.
On TEFA, being Catholic does not change the award. Accreditation does. A school accredited by a TEPSAC-recognized agency, with at least two years at a Texas location, qualifies a family for up to $10,474 a year, and a school outside that rule caps a family at $2,000. Most of the schools here appear to carry the higher-tier accreditation, and a student with an IEP at an accredited school can receive more, up to $30,000. Confirm the accreditor with each school.
Featured programs are paid placements and appear first. Some programs also pay for a larger profile, which never changes the order. Every listing here is free. How we make money.
