Conroe's Christian and Catholic private schools are the core of what the Montgomery County seat offers families who want a faith-based full-time school. Non-denominational, Catholic and Adventist campuses are all part of the list, running Monday to Friday, and the grade range runs from Pre-K through twelfth grade across them.

Most of these schools are described as open to families outside their own church, though the faith requirement varies, so read each one rather than assuming from the name. An early-childhood program also appears in the listings, which will not be full-time K-12, so check the grades.

Conroe is a genuine drive from central Houston. The Woodlands is about 19 minutes south and Willis is 14 minutes away, but Spring and Klein are 30 minutes or more, so most Conroe families choose from what is local.

On TEFA, most of these campuses appear to be accredited at the higher-tier level, up to $10,474 a year. Ask each school for its accreditor, whether it is TEPSAC-recognized, and how many years it has run in Texas. Without that, a family is capped at $2,000.
