Homeschool co-ops in Montgomery County
Montgomery County's co-ops meet one day a week, and the groups are spread across The Woodlands, Conroe and Porter/New Caney. Monday is the day named most often. Parents teach in most of them, and in at least one a parent stays on site instead of dropping a child off.
Most groups are Christian, and a national classical-education network anchors several. Most ask families to sign a statement of faith, and a Catholic group is among them. Grades run from Pre-K through high school, with math, science, art and PE named as regular subjects.
The Woodlands is the center of the county's homeschool community, and its co-ops are easier to find and better organized than those in Conroe, about 19 minutes north. If you are choosing between the two, weigh the drive against the group's size, since a Monday commute repeats every week.
On TEFA, the honest answer is that co-op fees are unsettled. The program pays registered vendors, not families, and an informal parent-run group is not one. A co-op that does register could plausibly bill instructional fees as class or tutoring fees, but that is inference, not a stated rule. Ask each group where it stands.
