Private schools in South/Pearland
Private schools stretch the full length of the Highway 288 corridor, and this page covers all of it: Pearland at the top, Lake Jackson at the bottom, with Alvin and Angleton between. Pearland carries the most listings, and Lake Jackson has the next largest group, which is a notable concentration this far south.
The mix is Christian, Catholic and unstated, and most are open to families outside their own church. Grades run from Pre-K through twelfth, but the schools are individually smaller than the campuses in Katy or Sugar Land, so ask each one how far it goes. Some serve early childhood only.
The drive is the deciding factor. Lake Jackson to Pearland is a real commute, and families at the southern end of the corridor often choose from what is local instead of driving north. Friendswood is about 11 minutes from Pearland if you want to compare more campuses.
On TEFA, a school needs the right accreditor before the higher tier applies. A TEPSAC-recognized agency plus two years at a Texas campus can unlock up to $10,474 a year, and a school without that caps a family at $2,000. Ask each school which agency accredited it.
