Private schools in Inner Loop

61 listings. Full-time private schools, religious and secular, including special-education schools.

The Inner Loop has the widest mix of private schools in Houston. Catholic parish schools, Christian schools, Jewish day schools and schools with no stated faith all sit within a few miles, and Montessori and classical approaches are named alongside the traditional ones. That range is the reason to use this page: you can compare very different school cultures without leaving the neighborhood.

Most of the listings sit in Meyerland, Bellaire and Montrose/Midtown, with more in The Heights and West University Place. Bellaire and Meyerland are about a minute apart and West University Place is about four minutes from Bellaire, so a search here is usually a search of all three, with tours booked on the same afternoon.

Schools run five days a week across Pre-K through twelfth grade, with art, music, PE, foreign language and Bible among the subjects named. Faith requirements vary. Some schools welcome any family and some ask more, so read each school's own statement.

The TEFA tier follows accreditation, not the campus or the tuition. A TEPSAC-recognized accreditor plus two years at a Texas campus qualifies a family for up to $10,474 a year, and a school without that caps a family at $2,000.
